Voice Of Rejection
Voice Of Rejection
It knows my name, but not my tale,
Grows louder when the nights turn pale.
Turns doorways into silent threats,
Leaves my courage in regret.
It whispers, “You’re late again,
A stranger who’ll never blend,”
As if the world’s a puzzle’s edge,
And I’m the piece that won’t extend.
But I’m learning to decode its tone
Borrowed lies, not my own.
That’s the voice of rejection,
A melody laced with bitter sting,
Telling me I’m a question
Unworthy of blossoming.
But I’m cutting off its tether,
Breaking free from its cruel theme
If you’re not part of my healing,
You won’t rewrite my dream.
Sometimes it wears a friendly guise,
Smiles that never reach the eyes.
“It’s a joke,” it claims, then watches,
To see if my confidence crashes.
It counts the moments I falter,
Calls my boundaries “too severe,”
But my “no” is not surrender
It’s a strength I hold dear.
And I refuse to play the part
For love that tears my soul apart.
That’s the voice of rejection,
A melody laced with bitter sting,
Telling me I’m a question
Unworthy of blossoming.
But I’m cutting off its tether,
Breaking free from its cruel theme
If you’re not part of my healing,
You won’t rewrite my dream.
I once wore its echoes like a cloak,
A burden in summer’s heavy stroke
Stifling, suffocating, incomplete.
Now I name each hidden scar,
And watch its shadows flee afar.
Let it whisper, let it stay
It won’t govern my today.
It won’t dictate my way.
That’s the voice of rejection,
But it won’t chart my course.
I’m more than their reflection,
More than echoes of their force.
I’m choosing resurrection,
No longer pleading to be seen
If you’re not part of my future,
You can’t define where I’ve been.
Let it knock, let it cry
I’m unbreakable; I will rise.
